"After 2 very successful business years, Beatriz Custodio-Strachan of Butterflies of Blairgowrie has decided to follow her original vision of an eco working garden, to continue bringing environmentally friendly flowers to the people of Blairgowrie and the surrounding areas. Beatriz started Butterflies of Blairgowrie in 2007 celebrating this month the second year in business and has had to move her premises once already to a bigger place. Now employing 8 staff from the area to help her, the business has gone from strength to strength. The employees bring various skills to the business and some have worked in prestigious florists in Edinburgh and one has arranged flowers for Royalty! Beatriz is so proud of her team and is so glad to have their skills. The shop has served its purpose but now is the time to move on and get closer to nature.

Beatriz had originally wanted to set up growing her own flowers and selling them on site for everyday use, events and weddings but decided to open a shop first whilst growing some of her flowers, giving us the opportunity to get to know her and the principles behind Butterflies.

After two years and with regular clientele Beatriz can now take the business to the next level and make her dreams come true. The shop itself will move on Saturday 13th June, but that doesn't mean Butterflies is going - only evolving to become more environmentally friendly… even more than it already is.

The new work-shop will be supplied with flowers from the working garden and local suppliers from around Perthshire, Fife and Stirlingshire. Using local products ensures the carbon footprints are kept to the minimum… not so damaging on our environment. The flowers are naturally grown, no pesticides or chemicals are used in their growing. Natural flowers have scent - they are not genetically engineered like the ones found in other outlets.

During the transitional period Butterflies of Blairgowrie will still provide you with all your floral needs. You will be able to follow all the progress of the working garden on this website along with placing orders online, by phone or in person (but give us a call first!).
